Journey in Faith
RCIA(Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults)
More and more people outside the Church feel
that something is missing from their lives. They are searching for
a sense of purpose and a greater meaning to life itself. In response
to this need we are running at St Joan's a programme of sharing
our faith with anyone who wishes to learn more about the Christian
message and the Catholic way of life.
The first of these took place last year, resulting in several new
members joining our community (see picture). We are now running
another session which started in Sept 2005.
For information please
e-mail Carol Harnett.
Alpha
From time to time we run an Alpha course in the Parish. The Alpha
course is a ten week practical introduction to the Christian faith.
It is designed primarily for non-churchgoers and those who have
recently become Christians. It is also an opportunity for churchgoers
to renew their faith and learn how to share it with others. The
format is a simple shared meal followed by a video presentation
and small discussion groups. For information on courses please email
Alastair Emblem.
CaFE "Catholic Faith Exploration"
CaFE courses are a five or six week series of talks on DVD examining
different aspects of the Catholic Faith in a relaxed cafe-style
setting. These are run in The Parish Centre from time to time, or
in house group meetings. For information please email Alastair
Emblem.
Life in the Spirit Seminars
A course on renewal in the Holy Spirit, run from time to time in
the Parish. For information please email Alastair Emblem.

of receiving the Sacraments of Baptism, First Holy Communion and
Reconciliation or Confirmation are welcome to contact the priest

here for details of the programme of Sacraments for children.
Marriage
Anyone wishing to get married should give six
months notice to the priest before the date proposed for the marriage.
This ensures that not only the necessary document, dispensation
and other formalities be dealt with but also ensures attendance
at an Engaged Couples Course.

If you are unable to get out to church please
let us know by phone (01252 716711) or e-mail
and we will arrange to visit you at home. Let us know if you know
of a parishioner in hospital.
