Parent and Preschool Children's Group
This group, often called
'Toddlers' meets in the Committee Room attached to St Joan's Hall
every Tuesday during term from 2.00 pm to 3.30 pm.
The Group is for parents
with children 0-5 years or those with bumps. We find the parents
enjoy it as much as the children. Refreshments and a simple prepared
activity are available. All are welcome and we look forward to seeing
you.
If you have any questions
please e-mail
Ildi Evans or Jane Dossett..
Catholic Children's Society Support Group
The Society is dedicated
to providing, supporting and promoting family life through:
- the adoption of babies and older children
- helping families in difficulties
- caring for children and young people in need
Our parish raises money
(mainly through the sale of Christmas cards and collections) to
support the Society. Recent news is circulated through 'Child',
a free 6 monthly newspaper given out with the Parish newsletter.
There is also support
material available called 'Adoption Link' for anyone connected with
adoption - as an adopted person, as adoptive parents or as a person
who had a child adopted.
If you would like help
or more information please e-mail.email

Marriage Care
"Helping to create and sustain
healthy relationships into the 21st century".
Marriage Care is a national
charity whose aim is to support marriage at all stages of its development
but especially in times of difficulty.
At its heart is relationship
counseling, with other, complementary services radiating from it.
Marriage Care accepts
and welcomes everyone who might benefit from the skills and insights
it has to offer. This includes agencies who provide pastoral and
practical care in the community, as well as clients who seek help
from us, either as an independent person or as a couple.
Our counselors are located
countrywide and locally in Aldershot, Woking, Guildford and Reading.
The appointment secretary
is Barbara, Tel: 0207 243 1898.
Marriage Care NATIONAL HELPLINE is open
Monday to Friday 11.00 am - 3.00 pm Tel: 0845 660 6000
Marriage Encounter
This is a group of people
in the Catholic Church who believe that marriage is a wonderful
vocation. We present weekends for married couples that show this
through personal examples. By going on such a weekend, any couple
can take responsibility for what is happening in their lives and
develop or renew the joy available to them.
If you would like to
consider going on such a weekend please
e-mail.
Engaged Encounter
These weekends are designed
to give engaged couples the opportunity to talk honestly about their
attitudes to many subjects that may affect their relationship. It
is strongly suggested that couples wishing to marry attend one of
these courses as part of their preparation for marriage.
For details please e-mail.
The Separated and Divorced Group
This is an informal group
which serves as a forum for swapping information and experiences,
as well as providing mutual support. We maintain close links with
the Guildford branch of the Association for Separated Catholics
which frequently has interesting speakers.
Please look for notices
in the St Joan's newsletter and feel free to e-mail
Madeleine Stanford if you have any questions or would like to be
involved.
