Attention all Youth
Youth Club Leader:
Paolina Perez
Youth
Club is active during the school terms.
Make
it a weekly event!! - Sundays from 7.15 - 9.15. Entry
Fee £1
Open to Year 7's upwards. Indoor events either in the old hall
or St. Joan's Centre.
Please Note:
Outdoor activities may change due to inclement weather. We have
decided not to run the club during the second half of the summer
term because we have found in previous years that attendance is
low at this time. We feel that families probably have other plans
for evenings during the summer months! However, we will resume
in September once the schools are back. The activities each week
are published each week in the church bulletin and on the "Diary"
page of this site, and monthly in the parish monthly news. The
following events are typical examples, showing the range of activities.

We would like to thank you
all for your support. The youth club has been going for a few
years now and we could not have achieved this without you. Please
remember that if you have any suggestions for activities for the
club, you just have to tell us.
There is URGENT NEED
for volunteers to help out with youth club activities. If
you feel you can devote a Sunday evening to demonstrate a skill
whether it be guitar playing or cookie making to the members,
please contact
Paolina by email.
Subs are £1. However, if
you help out, you'll get a voucher to give you either discounted
or free entry the following week. Please note some of the activities
may be changed if the weather is inclement.
Click
here to email Paolina Perez for more information or offers of
help. We also welcome queries or comments and suggestions!!!
Young Adults Group (G Word)
For those you have completed the
Confirmation course and would like to keep in touch with each
other and the church. Largely organised by the group themselves,
but contact Sister Ewa for information.
Children's Liturgy
At the 9.15 Mass (family Mass), about 50- 60
children from the ages 2½ to 10 are given their own liturgy
of the word, when they do activities related to the readings of
the day. They leave the church after the first hymn, and are taken
by Catechists (volunteers who "teach" the children) into
St. Joan's Centre where they are divided into groups according to
age. They return in procession during the offertory. They gather
on the sanctuary steps, where one or two children read a short prayer
about the theme of the day, before returning to their families.
The last hymn of the Mass is usually accompanied
by as many children as possible on tambourines, shakers etc, all
well conducted at the front.
If you would like to help in any way with children's liturgy please
e-mail
Frances Thompson or Nicola Kitney..
